Hotel du Cap Eden Roc

Located in Cap d'Antibes in southern France, Hotel du Cap Eden Roc is one of the world's most iconic and luxurious hotels. Built originally as a private mansion Villa Soleil (Villa of the Sun) in 1863 by the founder of France's Le Figaro newspaper, Hippolyte de Villemessant, the villa later opened as a hotel for writers seeking inspiration in 1870. In 1887, Italian hotelier Antoine Sella bought the property, and opened the Grand Hotel du Cap in 1889. In 1914, the Eden Roc pavilion with its seaside swimming pool was built 400 yards away from the main hotel.

The main hotel building, a grand Napoleon III château, is located on the southern tip of the Cap d'Antibes in 22 acres of pine trees and tropical gardens. There are also two private villas, the Villa Eleana and the Villa Les Cèdres.

For over 140 years, the legendary Hotel du Cap Eden Roc on the French Riviera has been frequented by the rich and famous from around the world. In recent years, the hotel has become the go-to secret getaway for stars attending the annual Cannes Film Festival and trying to escape the chaos of the fest.
