Quetzalcoatl
A mesoamerican deity that takes the form of either a human or a large serpent. The name translated from Nahuatl means "feathered serpent". It is said that it presides over the west and has also been associated with the morning star.
The God also turns up in other religions, such as Mormonism where it is analogous to Jesus, and other Egyptian, Mayan and Olmec belief systems.
