Rattlesnake

Rattlesnakes are so named because they rattle their tails as a warning sign when threatened. They are a group of venomous snakes belonging to the subfamily of Crotalinae (pit vipers). Rattlesnakes are native to the Americas and give live birth instead of laying eggs. A rattlesnake has elliptical pupils enabling the snake to see well in dim light.
