The Barcclays golf tournament started as the Westchester Classic in 1967 at the Westchester Country Club in Rye, New York. The first Barclays Classic was held in 2005. Two years later, the tournament changed its name to The arclays when it became the first playoff event in the FedExCup.

The 2010 tournament is taking place at the Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus, New Jersey, designed by golf course architect A.W. Tillinghast. The winner will walk away with $1,350,000 out of a total prize fund of $7,500,000.
