Home > Blossary: Fake
Fake is both adj and verb, thus as verb it means 'change/alter true nature of'', or forge, a forgery is a fake signature, thus one has tried to copy faithfully, as much as possible the signature, of someone else, thus kind of paper identity theft, in order to achieve something illegal. If legal results deriving from fake cause truly damage or harm in fraude, the fame of another person and if this result is irreversible, thus continue to have same impact on something or someone, then it's considered a criminal act already, which in some countries (in Greece for ex. where we are) can be punished for ex. with 6 years, and not up to 5 years as more light penal act, -along with penalty, accordingly. We also say in the same way ''fake value'' of product, thus a face value, or hidden one, often with relative negative consequences, and this also applies, as forgery, with relative legal consequences (as above)/
