Euro Cup championship

The UEFA European Football Championship, also known as Euro Cup championship, is the main football competition of the men's national football teams governed by UEFA (Union of European Football Associations). Specific championships are often referred to with their year included, e.g. "Euro 2008" or "Euro 2012".

The Euro 2012 was the 14th European Championship. In the final match in Kiev Spain won over Italy with a score of 4–0.

The winning team is awarded a trophy, the so called The Henri Delaunay Trophy. It is named in honour of Henri Delaunay, the first General Secretary of UEFA. The names of the winning teams are engraved on the back of the trophy, that is made out of silver.
