The Global Terrorism Index is a study carried out by the Institute for Economics and Peace to measure the impact of international terrorism over a 10 year period between 2002 and 2012. It ranks 158 countries. The findings showed that attacks rose steadily between 2002 and 2007, and thereafter they began to level out.It was also found that over a third of all terrorist attack victims between 2002 and 2011 were from Iraq.
