Considered to be one of the world's most densely populated areas, Bangladesh is a South Asian country bordered almost entirely by India, but has a small border with Myanmar to the southeast and the Bay of Bengal to the south. More than half of the population lives under one dollar a day, which has prompted the government to adopt major plans to diversify the country's economy and to improve health and education.
