A type of men's necktie, consisting of a ribbon of fabric tied around the collar in a symmetrical manner such that the two opposite ends form loops. Bow ties should be worn with a classic tux. They come in several colours besides basic black --- white is reserved for super-formal events, and coloured bow ties are suitable for any occasion.
