initial public offering (ipo)
The Initial Public Offering (IPO the stock exchange and the company acronym) is the first sale of private equity (shares or stocks) in a company through the issue of shares to the public and other investment institutions. In other words, the IPO is the first sale of stock by a private company to the public. IPOS generally involve small companies, raising capital finance young growth. The IPO can be risky for investors as it is difficult to estimate the value of stocks (shares) when they opened for trading. The IPO effective ' go public ' or ' taking a company public '.
