Jan Eggum (December 8, 1951) started his career in 1975 and has now been one of Norway's most famous singer/songwriters for some time. His songs are often of loneliness and sorrow, which has earned him the characterization "face for the melancholy", but he has also songs where he criticises the society and also shows more trivial and funny sides of himself. He has in total released 18 albums as a solo artist.
