An ethnic group, regional or social that stands out from other groups in a society. Members of a subculture often share a common identity, food traditions, dialect or language and other cultural traits that come from their common ancestral background and experience. The subcultures are more likely to exist in a complex society, such as the United States and Canada, where people have come from different parts of the world.
