A combination of the words vagina and bedazzle. Vajazzling is the act of a woman affixing Swarovski crystals or other sparkly items to their vagina and surrounding area. This can be used as a general fashion accessory or to cover up unsightly scars from childbirth or surgery.

The trend was largely unheard of until early 2010 when a range of celebrities, sparked by Jennifer Love Hewitt, started announcing that they had paid for this beauty therapy. Since then, its popularity has grown rapidly amongst younger women in America.
