International women's day

Is celebrated every year on March 8. International women's day is an official holiday in many countries, as a sign of respect, reverence and recognition of the achievements of women in the economic, political and social life. The origin of the feast dates from the century-old Statute and its purpose changed from era to era and depending on the region of the world.

at the very beginning of its existence, the international women's day was a socialist political event, which advocates for gender equality. the national women's day was celebrated in the United States in 1909, following the Declaration of the Socialist Party of America the following year Clara Zetkin proposed to adopt the international day in order to uphold the rights of women had been adopted unanimously. in 1911, international women's day was celebrated in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland with rallies and demonstrationsattended by more than a million people demanding the right to vote and working rights for women. International women's day has become a popular holiday in Eastern Europe, Russia and former Soviet republics after the first world war and prior to the 1970 's.

nowadays in many regions of the world, the holiday has turned into a cultural and social occasion for men to express their love and respect to women, such as mother's day and Valentine's day.
