Slope
The slope of a cumulative record refers to the tangent of the angle the record forms with the abscissa. Where the rate of the performance is changing, the slope of the record at any point is given by the tangent to the curve at that point. The slope of the cumulative record is equivalent to the rate of emission of the performance.
