Divided, almost to the base, into segments. Cf. Palmate, lobed.

Bifid
Plants; Botany

Divided, for about half the length, into two parts. Cf. Bipartite.

Centripetal
Plants; Botany

Directed, or developing, from the outside towards the centre or axis.

Pinnatisect
Plants; Botany

Dissected down to the midrib but having the segments confluent with it.

Lobed
Plants; Botany

Divided into lobes (rounded segments) separated from adjacent segments by sinuses which reach halfway or less to the middle of the organ. Cf. Cleft.

Lyrate
Plants; Botany

Deeply lobed, with a large terminal lobe and smaller lateral ones.

Basipetal
Plants; Botany

Developing, in sequence, from the apex towards the base. Cf. Acropetal.
