Calculus
coordinate
Mathematics; Calculus
A number or a set of numbers that is used to show the position of a point. One coordinate is needed if the point is on a line.
quantity
Mathematics; Calculus
A number, or a symbol that represents a number. Addition, subtraction, and division are performed on quantities.
cubic
Mathematics; Calculus
Unit of measurement that measures volume. Cubic units, such as a cubic yard and cubic meter, are one unit long.
minus sign
Mathematics; Calculus
This sign is used to show subtraction, as in 9-5= 4. It is also used to show that a number is negative(less than zero), as in -10.
reciprocal
Mathematics; Calculus
Either of two numbers that equal 1 when they are multiplied together. The number 3 is the reciprocal of 1/3.
finite
Mathematics; Calculus
Having a limit. the set of even numbers between 1 and 20 is finite in general mathematics.
higher order derivatives
Mathematics; Calculus
The second derivative, third derivative, and so forth for some function.
