A branch of civil engineering that applies engineering principles specifically to projects within the coastal zone including areas nearshore, estuary, marine, and shoreline.

A wave-cut platform, with or without a covering of beach materials, which is now raised above the present sea- level.

Any protected water area affording a place of safety for vessels. See also port. A harbour may be natural or man-made.
