Natural gas
Natural gas is a naturally occurring hydrocarbon gas mixture consisting primarily of methane, with up to 20 % of other hydrocarbons as well as impurities in varying amounts such as carbon dioxide. Natural gas is widely used as an important energy source in many applications including heating buildings, generating electricity, providing heat and power to industry, as fuel for vehicles and as a chemical feedstock in the manufacture of products such as plastics and other commercially important organic chemicals.

Natural gas
Swing cheque valve
Energy; Natural gas
A cheque valve design in which the flow control element rotates about an axis that is perpendicular to the fluid path and is outside the fluid path and the flow control element.
Tensile strength
Energy; Natural gas
The highest tensile stress that a material can withstand before failure or rupture occurs - the force being applied in a direction tending to elongate the material.
Tensile test
Energy; Natural gas
A destructive test performed on a specially machined specimen taken from material in its delivered condition to determine mechanical properties, such as tensile strength, yield strength, and percent ...
Threaded end
Energy; Natural gas
A valve end that has femal pipe threads cut into it to allow for screwing in male threaded connecting pipe.
Throttling
Energy; Natural gas
The intentional restriction of flow by partially closing or opening a valve.
Thrust
Energy; Natural gas
The net force applied to a part in a particular direction - e.g., on the end of a valve stem
Tilting-disc cheque valve
Energy; Natural gas
A cheque valve design in which the flow control element rotates about an axis that is perpendicular to the fluid parth and is in the fluid path and passes through the flow control element.
