Annual United States-based competition hosted by Google, where thousands of Google users submit a hand-drawn picture based on a certain theme. 2011 featured 107,000 submissions while 2012 featured over 114,000 submissions.

The winner of the 2012 Doodle 4 Google competition was Dylan Hoffmann, a second-grader from Wisconsin. Hoffman's art, titled "Pirate Times" was awarded a $30,000 college scholarship, while his school was awarded a $50,000 scholarship to support the purchase of new technology.

Google has patented Doodle 4 Google and will hold the competition again next year.
