Persepolis is an autobiographical graphic novel written by Marjane Satrapi in French. The novel follows her childhood up to early adulthood in Iran during and after the Islamic Revolution. An animated film adaption was created by comic artist Vincent Paronnaud in 2007 in black and white, with Satrapi co-directing.
