A sheet of ice attached to the area of land along one side but most floats and Bonded on the side into the sea by the sheer cliff face (the ice ahead) climbed 2 tp 50 + m above sea level. Common along the coast of the pole (Antarctica, Greenland), and generally a great breadth and sometimes runs tens or hundreds of miles from the continental coastline seaward of England.
