Viskozna tekućina koja zatvara otvor grlića maternice. Većinu vremena ova prepreka od guste sluzi sprječava ulaz spermija i bakterija u maternicu. U sredini ciklusa, pod utjecajem estrogena, sluz postaje rijetka, vodenasta i ljepljiva kako bi omogućila ulaz spermija u maternicu. Vidi i Grlić maternice.
