3DS is a handheld game console developed by Nintendo as a successor to the popular Nintendo DS series of game players. 3DS uses a special technology called autostereoscopy to produce 3D effects without the need for users to wear any special glasses. The Nintendo 3DS will support backward compatibility with Nintendo DS software.

3DS will be officially released in February 2011.
