Ahoge

A single strand of hair that sticks out of a character's head. It literally means "stupid hair" and usually indicates that the character is stupid. However, there are exceptions to this, so it is not a absolute rule. It differs from antenna hair, in which there are two or more locks of hair sticking up as opposed to one. Characters that have an ahoge include Araragi Koyomi from Bakemonogatari, his ahoge being unique due to its gesture responses to certain situations, Himeko Katagiri from Pani Poni.
