Alan Krueger

Born on September 17, 1960, Alan Krueger is an economist, professor at Princeton University and researcher at the National Bureau of Economic Research. Krueger received his BA from Cornell and Ph.D. in economics from Harvard. Among his achievements, Krueger is known for developing methods of natural experiment to study how education affect earnings and minimum wage.

Krueger has published three books: Myth and Measurement: The New Economics of Minimum Wage (with coauthor David Card, 1995); Education Matters: Selected Essays by Alan B. Krueger (2001); and What Makes a Terrorist: Economics and the Roots of Terrorism (2007).

On August 29, 2011, Alan Krueger was named the new chief economist to President Barack Obama.
