Anastas Mikoyan

Anastas Mikoyan was an old Bolshevik and Soviet statesman during the rule of Vladimir Lenin, Joseph Stalin, Khrushchev and Brezhnev. He was the only Russian politician who managed to be a member of the highest body of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, Politburo, during eras of Stalin, Khrushchev and Brezhnev. Mikoyan became an early convert to the Bolshevik cause. Mikoyan was a strong supporter of Stalin during Lenin's post immediately. During Stalin's rule, Mikoyan spent several high government posts, including Minister of foreign trade. By the end of the reign of Stalin, Mikoyan was beginning to lose favour with him, and in 1949, the Mikoyan lost its long-held the post of Minister of foreign trade. At the Party Congress, Stalin even 19 attacked Mikoyan viciously. When Stalin died in 1953, the Mikoyan again took the lead in formulating policies. He supported Khrushchev's de-stalinization and his policies and became first Deputy Premier Khrushchev. Mikoyan position when Khrushchev made him the second most powerful figure in the Soviet Union at the time.
