Anders Behring Breivik is a Norwegian terrorist and the perpetrator of the 2011 attacks in Norway. On July 22, 2011, Breivik bombed the government buildings in Oslo, resulting in eight deaths. Later, he carried out a mass shooting at a camp of the Workers' Youth League (AUF) of the Labour Party on the island of Utøya. There he killed 69 people, mostly teenagers.

Breivik is on trial, with prosecutors claiming that he was mentally unstable at the time of the attacks. Breivik denies these allegations, and claims that he was sane at the time of the crimes. He says he carried out the attacks in order to keep Muslims and members of the Labour Party from ruining Norway and leading to the extermination of Norwegians. The trial is expected to continue until July 2012.
