The three steps aristotle used to describe our material world:

1. FOUR CAUSES physical with a purpose can be understood from these: A) Material - the physical B) Efficient - the forces that caused the material to be C) Formal - the plan or design, as things happen in accordance with design D) Final - the purpose behind the cause

2. TELEOLOGICAL VIEW OF NATURE: Nature exists to fulfil purpose, or ends; the idea of balance supports this.

3. SUBSTRATA: Everything is made of the four elements of earth, water, air, and fire.
