The Atlantic Ocean
The second largest of the world's oceans, the Atlantic area 31.830 million square miles (82.440 million sq miles). The marginal seas, including the Baltic, black and Mediterranean North, East, and Baffin Bay, Hudson Bay, Gulf of St. Lawrence, Gulf of Mexico, and the Caribbean Sea to the West, it includes some, 41.100 million square miles (106.450 million sq miles).
the first part of its name refers to the Atlas of Greek mythology, making the Atlantic the "sea of Atlas". the Atlantic Ocean occupies an elongated basin, S-shaped expands vertically between the Americas to the West, and Eurasia and Africa to the East.
