Brandberg massif
Rising unexpectedly from the heart of the desert, Namib in northern Namibia, domed Brandberg Massif (Brandberg intrusion) is exhumed granite intrusion 2573 meters and covering the surface of the rising to 650 square kilometers. Its huge size acts as a rain shadow, wringing moisture from clouds and preventing rain in the desert. Unique plant and animal Communities thrive in its environment and the high altitude, and the prehistoric cave paintings adorn the walls, which are hidden in its steep walls.
The Brandberg massif has been added to the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites for nature and culture.
