Chunyun is a Chinese term to refer to the Chinese New Year travel season, which sees an extremeley high amount of traffic, particularly with train journeys. Numbers get so large that journeys exceed the population of China, and in 2008 over 2 billion journeys were made over the 15 day period of Chinese New Year.
