Cloud Atlas is a 2004 novel written by British author David Mitchell. The novel is comprised of six storeys spanning from the nineteenth century to a post-apocalyptic future. Each tale is a storey that is read by the main character in the next. The book is being made into a film, which will be released in October 2012.
