Delaware
Delaware, nicknamed "The First State" and also known as "The Diamond State" or "The Small Wonder," is a U.S. state located on the Atlantic Coast in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States. It is bordered to the south and west by Maryland, to the east by New Jersey and to the north by Pennsylvania. Delaware was one of the 13 colonies participating in the American Revolution and on December 7, 1787, became the first state to ratify the Constitution of the United States, thereby becoming known as The First State. Dover is the state capital but other major cities are Wilmington, Newark, Middletown, Smyrna, Milford, Seaford, Elsmere, Georgetown, and New Castle.
