Executive Branch department of the Federal Government that promotes and administers domestic and foreign commerce. Also, lead agency for coordinating verification activities of commercial industrial facilities which fall under the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC). Through its Bureau of Industry and Security, conducts an industry education and awareness outreach programme which provides advice and assistance in preparation for verification activities, as well as support during on-site inspections, designed to facilitate industry implementation of the CWC.
