Discovery
The oldest of NASA's three surviving space shuttles, Discovery's maiden voyage was in 1984. It made both return-to-flight missions following the Challenger and Columbia disasters, and delivered the Hubble Space Telescope into orbit.
The shuttle was launched for the last time on 24 February 2011. It is expected eventually to be put on display by the Smithsonian Institution.
