A new series of laptops being produced by the Bangladesh state owned telecoms company Telephone Shilpa Sangstha. The cheapest model will be sold for the affordable price of $130 as part of the government's Digital Bangladesh plan, which aims to position Bangladesh as a notable player in digital industries by 2021.

Bangladesh aims to have the laptops produced from mainly domestic materials by the end of the first quarter of 2012.

The laptops were launched on Tuesday October 11th 2011 by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
