Don Quixote
Don Quixote (complete title "The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha") is a novel written by the Spanish author Miguel de Cervantes which was published in two volumes (in 1605 and 1615). Don Quixote is considered the most influential work of literature from the Spanish Golden Age and the entire Spanish literary canon.
The plot is about Don Quixote, a retired country gentleman who after reading a lot of chivalry books lose his mind and he believes every word, so he decide to become an errant knight and named himself "Don Quixote de la Mancha". He designates a neighbouring farm girl, Aldonza Lorenzo, as his lady love, renaming her Dulcinea del Toboso, while she knows nothing about this. In the second part he manages to convince one of his uneducated neighbors, Sancho Panza, to become his squire promising him the governorship of an island. Since that moment they go through numerous adventures, one of the best known is Don Quixote's attack on windmills that he believes to be ferocious giants. At the end before dying he recovers his sanity and apologise for all the damage he caused.
