Esperanza Pérez Labrador

(1922- 2011) Esperanza Catalina Pérez de Labrador is one of the mothers of the "1st of May Square". She has been fighting against the Argentinean government since 1976, when her family (her husband, three sons and daughter-in-law) were killed and kidnapped by the military. She was born in Cuba from Spanish parents, but she moved to Argentina with his husband after the Spanish Civil War (1939). Esperanza was an activist for human rights until her death the 13 of November, 2011.
