Facebook has recently released around 421 million shares, which are predicted to be worth of a total of $104 billion. Originally, the shares were expected to be worth around $34-38, but Facebook announced that each share will sell for $38, when it's released on 18 May 2012.

Shares in Facebook are thought to be some of the most eagerly-anticipated flotations in recent stock market history, though there are doubts that the company will be able generate the necessary future revenue to justify the share price.
