Born on September 20, 1948, George Raymond Richard Martin is an American author. He is sometimes referred to as George R. R. Martin or GERM. Most of Martin's works are fantasy, horror, or science fiction. His best known novels are the A Song of Ice and Fire series, which has now been adapted to a television series called "Game of Thrones".
