Twice Grammy-nominated heavy metal band, which has been producing satirical music for over 25 years. Formed in Virginia in 1984, the band's performances include elaborate costumes and sets, as well as harmless substances which are sprayed over audiences. They are also known for lampooning major public figures.

Gwar's guitarist, Cory Smoot of Midlothian, was found dead on GWAR's tour bus before it crossed into Canada on 3 November 2011 after a concert in Minneapolis.
