Illinois is the fifth-most populous state of the United States of America. Its nickname is "The Prairie State" and it shares borders with Wisconsin, Lake Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi River, Iowa. The state capital is Springfield but other major cities are Chicago, Aurora, Rockford, Naperville, and Joliet.
