Innocent IV

180th Pope of the Catholic Church. Pontificate 1243 - 1254. Convened the First Council of Lyons, 1245. In August 1253, after much worry about the order's insistence on absolute poverty, Innocent finally approved the rule of the 2nd Order of the Franciscans, the Poor Clares, founded by St. Clare of Assisi, the great friend of St Francis.
