Jeremy Lin (born August 23, 1988) is an American professional NBA basketball player with the New York Knicks. His unprecedented rise during the 2012 season from a bench player to a global basketball star in 14 days captivated sports fans throughout the world. Lin is one of the few Asian Americans in NBA history, and the first American player in the league to be of Chinese or Taiwanese descent.

After receiving no athletic scholarship offers out of high school and being undrafted out of college, Lin began his professional basketball career in late 2010 with his hometown Golden State Warriors under a partially guaranteed contract. He was waived by the Warriors after only one season before joining the Knicks early in the 2011–12 season. Since being picked as a starter, Lin led the Knicks to a 7 game winning streak, giving the Knicks and NBA much needed support by boosting ticket prices across the league.

Jeremy Lin graduated from Harvard in 2010 with a degree in economics.
