A class of haemoglobin in which there has been a faulty crossing-over between the adjacent genes for β- and δ-globins, producing a globin with the N-terminus of δ-globin and the C-terminus of β-globin. Anti-Lepore haemoglobins are mutants with the N-terminus of β-globin and the C-terminus of δ-globin.
