The Mai Tai is a cocktail composed of white rum, dark rum, orange curaçao, Orgeat syrup and lime juice. The cocktail is believed to have been created in the 1930s or 1940s but gained in popularity in the 1950s and 1960s, particularly after featuring in the Elvis Presley film, Blue Hawaii.
