Marco Simoncelli
(1987 - 2011) Marco Simoncelli was an Italian motorcycle racer. He started in the 125cc class but in 2006 he changed to the 250cc. In 2008 he won the 250cc World Championship with Gilera, and then he changed again to MotoGP in 2010 with Honda Gresini Team.
The 23rd of October (2011), when Simoncelli was in the fourth place during the Malaysian Grand Prix at the Sepang International Circuit, his bike had some problem and get crossed with Colin Edwards and Valentino Rossi while Simoncelli was riding really close to the track. As result of the huge crash, his helmet came off, and although the race was red-flagged and Simonelli was taken to the medical center, he died due to his serious injuries in the head, neck and chest.
