Nils Schumann (born 20 May 1978) is a former German athlete, winner of the 800 m at the 2000 Summer Olympics, who retired in 2009.[1] For most of the five years before his retirement he had featured sparingly at an international level due to injuries. He was named male German sportsperson of the year 2000.
