The Old Fashioned is a cocktail composed of bourbon, scotch or rye whiskey, sugar, Angostura bitters and water. The drink is served in a tumbler-like glass, called an old fashioned glass, which was named after the drink. The recipe dates back to 1806, though the name of the cocktail was first used in the 1880s.
